DeMarlo West is an educator, consultant, and leadership strategist with deep expertise in emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and inclusive organizational practice. As the Founder and CEO of Irwin & West Partners Consulting Firm, DeMarlo brings a human-centered, emotionally intelligent approach to leadership development and systems change.

With extensive experience working across higher education, nonprofit, and social service sectors, DeMarlo specializes in helping leaders and staff navigate complex interpersonal dynamics, organizational conflict, and identity-based challenges with clarity, empathy, and accountability. His work centers emotional intelligence as a critical skill set for ethical leadership, effective communication, and equitable service delivery.

The Emerging College Leaders Program is designed to prepare college students to lead with confidence, cultural awareness, and emotional intelligence as they transition from academic environments into professional spaces. Through intentional mentorship and structured learning experiences, students are paired with seasoned executives who provide guidance, exposure, and real-world leadership insight.

This program bridges the gap between theory and practice by helping students cultivate the interpersonal, reflective, and decision-making skills essential for effective leadership in diverse organizations.
